Chrigel Maurer
Chrigel grew up in Adelboden, in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. Even as a child, he was fascinated by paragliding. When he took off with a paraglider for the first time at the tender age of 9, he was definitely hooked. After obtaining his paragliding license at the earliest possible age at 16 and completing his bricklayer's apprenticeship, Chrigel turned his passion into a career. Since 2004, he earns his money by testing and helping to develop paragliders, winning paragliding competitions, and coaching and inspiring people with workshops and lectures. Whenever possible, Chrigel combines his endurance training with mountain and ski tours. His two teenage sons have also been infected with the paragliding virus and are eagerly awaiting their 16th birthdays so that they can finally obtain their paragliding licenses.
"Experience is the sum of reflected events. These do not have to be negative or my own."
Peter von Känel
Peter was infected with the paragliding virus at the age of 13 when he accidentally took off during ground handling with the paraglider of his father. At 17 he obtained his paragliding license. After completing his studies as a microtechnology engineer, he took up a part-time job in the aviation sector in 1997 and focused on competitive paragliding for several years. Mountain sports subsequently became increasingly important and in 2014 Peter completed his mountain guide formation. He is particularly fascinated by first ascending rock and ice routes off the beaten track. Today Peter earns half of his living as an aviation engineer and the other half as a mountain guide, specialist book author and through workshops and lectures. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two adult daughters.
